My Innovate LC-2 shows error code 8 and recalibration doesn't help. What does it mean?
Error 8 on the LC-2 indicates a sensor-related fault, usually a failed O2 sensor. Wideband sensors are race-use wear parts and are not covered by warranty; the most common cause of early failure is the installation position (condensation, sensor mounted pointing down or too close to the exhaust port, running the engine before the controller is powered). Send us a photo of the sensor installed on the exhaust and we will help you avoid it happening again. We can offer a replacement sensor at a better price.
Do you have a compact wideband controller board I can integrate into my own system?
The Innovate LC-2 without sensor (3881) is a compact wideband controller for the Bosch LSU 4.9 with analog outputs and serial (MTS) communication, making it easy to integrate into a main controller.
How do I change my Innovate MTX-L Plus to display Lambda instead of AFR?
The display units are set with the Innovate LM Programmer software. You need to power the gauge and connect it to your computer, which requires a USB-to-serial adapter/cable for the Innovate serial port. If you have difficulty, we can do an online session (Teams/Google Meet) to program the gauge with you.
I only want to check whether my carburettor is running lean or rich. Do I need the LM-2?
No. The LM-2 is mainly for logging during real driving. If you only need to check the mixture from time to time to adjust the jets, an MTX-L Plus wideband gauge is enough and more affordable.
The 8-pin Molex connector of my Innovate LC-2 won't plug in or latch. What is wrong?
This is a known issue on some recent Innovate connectors: one or more pins inside the connector housing are not seated in their correct position. Push the pins back into position (a small pick helps) until they are aligned, then the plug will seat and latch. We have a short video showing the fix; ask us and we will send it.
My Innovate MTX-L shows "22.1", "CAL", "Htr" all the time, or freezes. What does it mean?
"22.1" constantly usually means the sensor reads free air/very lean, or it is not connected or calibrated; "Htr"/"CAL" constantly means the sensor heater cycle or calibration never completes. First check power and ground, the sensor cable pins, and try a known-good LSU 4.9 sensor. If the gauge still freezes, shows the same code with a good sensor, or doesn't power up, it is faulty; send it to us for testing and warranty replacement.
I replaced my wideband O2 sensor and now the readings are wrong. Why?
After installing a new sensor you must perform the free-air calibration procedure (on Innovate devices this is mandatory; AEM X-Series are plug-and-play). Calibrate with the sensor out of the exhaust in free air before installing it.
What is the exact free-air calibration procedure for Innovate wideband controllers?
Follow the timing exactly: (1) power on without the sensor connected for about one minute; (2) power off; (3) connect the sensor, out of the exhaust in free air, and power on for about one minute until calibration completes; (4) power off; (5) install the sensor in the exhaust and power on. Skipping the waiting times is a common reason for calibration failures.
Can I log an AC or negative-going sensor signal (e.g. inductive RPM sensor on a diesel pump) with Innovate LM-2 analog inputs?
Innovate analog inputs read 0–5 V DC. You can connect such a signal, but add a diode on the input so only the positive half of the signal is read; otherwise the negative voltage may cause wrong readings.
My Innovate LC-2 keeps blinking and never finishes warming up the sensor. How do I troubleshoot it?
Try this sequence: (1) power the LC-2 on without the sensor connected for 10–30 seconds, (2) power off and connect the sensor, (3) power on and let it heat up and auto-calibrate. Also check that all pins of the sensor-cable connector are straight. If the warm-up still stops (e.g. LogWorks shows warm-up stuck at ~20%) with a known-good sensor and cable, the controller is faulty and should be returned for replacement.

AEM Electronics – Gauges
The O2 sensor in my AEM 30-4110 kit has no Bosch logo. Is it genuine?
Yes. AEM has supplied the 30-4110 with this sensor for more than 5 years. It is a 100% original Bosch LSU 4.9 oxygen sensor in its OEM version, which is why there is no logo on the sensor body. You can find the Bosch part number and logo on the sensor's connector.
The AEM 30-4900 boost and wideband gauge is obsolete. What is the alternative?
The Innovate PSB-1 PowerSafe Boost and Wideband O2 gauge kit (SKU 3892) offers the equivalent function.
My gauge arrived with damaged wiring/insulation. What are my options?
Contact us with photos. Depending on the case we offer: (a) a replacement unit, (b) a refund, or (c) if you prefer to keep and test the product and it works, we cover it with the normal 2-year warranty and give you a discount on your next order.
How do I claim a replacement for a faulty AEM wideband O2 sensor?
If your claim is accepted, we do not need the sensor back. We ask you to: (1) write a code we give you (e.g. "R2021") on the sensor with a marker, (2) take a photo, (3) destroy the sensor (cut the wires or break it) and (4) take a second photo. Send us both photos and we will ship you a new sensor. This saves you the cost and time of returning the part.
The analog output of my AEM X-Series wideband (30-0300) reads incorrectly, no matter which sensor is connected. Is it faulty?
AEM has confirmed a known issue with a previous production batch. If the analog output reads incorrectly regardless of the sensor, the gauge is covered by warranty and will be replaced.
My AEM wideband shows "HEATER" then dashes (----) and the buttons don't respond. When I unplug the sensor the buttons work. What should I do?
This points to a sensor or gauge fault. Pack the gauge and the sensor together and return them to the shop where you bought them for testing. You can leave the wiring harness in the car.
How do I connect several AEM X-Series wideband controllers (30-0310) to one AEMnet CAN gauge?
You can run up to 8 X-Series widebands on one AEMnet gauge. You don't need a CAN hub (although you may use one): connect all CAN+ wires together and all CAN– wires together. Set a different CAN ID on each controller following the procedure in the 30-0310 manual.
Is a replacement sensor available for my AEM FailSafe AFR gauge?
Yes. The AEM FailSafe gauge uses the Bosch wideband UEGO sensor 30-2001, available as a replacement.
What is the difference between the AEM 30-0333 and 30-0334 wideband gauges?
The 30-0333 is obsolete; only the 30-0334 is available. The 30-0334 measures AFR with its own wideband sensor and adds that value to the vehicle's OBDII network, so other OBDII scanners or loggers can read it as a separate value. Make sure this is the function you need before ordering.
What replaced the AEM Tru-Boost controller 30-4350?
The AEM X-Series Tru-BoostX (30-0352) supersedes the 30-4350. It sits in the slim X-Series gauge housing, its onboard MAP sensor handles up to 80 psi of boost, programming is done via the gauge buttons like the original, and it adds AEMnet CAN output for use with AEM dashes.

AEM Electronics - Ignition, Fuel and Methanol Systems
Why does the AEM wideband come with an AEM-branded sensor instead of a Bosch sensor?
AEM moved to its own AEM FAE (private-label) wideband O2 sensor. AEM says the new sensor is more durable, faster and more accurate, and our own testing agrees.
My AEM wideband stopped reading shortly after installation. What should I check first?
Double-check the power and ground wires; a bad ground is the most common cause. If the wiring is fine and the sensor was new and stopped working immediately, the sensor is replaced.
My AEM wideband gauge shows "SEnS" (sensor failure). What does it mean?
"SEnS" means the gauge detects a sensor error. First check the sensor connector and the harness. If the connections are good, the O2 sensor has failed and must be replaced. A replacement Bosch LSU 4.9-based sensor can be used on AEM X-Series wideband gauges that are set up for the LSU 4.9.
Is the AEM 30-0300 you sell new and original, and which sensor is included?
Yes, all products are new and original, not B-stock or returns. The 30-0300 kit includes the new AEM FAE wideband sensor (not a Bosch LSU 4.9). The gauge has a 2-year warranty.
Is the AEM 30-2001 sensor the right replacement for my AEM wideband gauge?
The 30-2001 is the old Bosch LSU 4.2 sensor used on AEM wideband gauges about 10 years ago. Current AEM X-Series AFR gauges use the AEM-FAE sensor. To be 100% sure which sensor your gauge needs, send us a photo of the sensor connector on your harness.
Can I use the AEM 30-0312 gauge to display the AFR from my AEM 30-0310 wideband controller?
Yes. The 30-0312 is designed to display values that are available on the AEMnet CAN bus, usually from AEM ECUs such as the Infinity. The 30-0310 broadcasts its data on AEMnet, so the 30-0312 will show its values.
Can the AEM water/methanol kit be used for a generator or other industrial engine to reduce intake and combustion temperatures?
Yes. The first thing we need to know is the boost pressure the engine works at, to choose between the standard controller (30-3304, up to 35 psi) and the HD controller (30-3306, up to 40 psi).
Which AEM water/methanol controller should I choose (35 psi or 40 psi max)?
AEM controllers differ by the MAP sensor range. The standard controller with internal MAP (30-3304) is rated to 35 psi boost, the HD controller (30-3306) to 40 psi. Choose the one that covers your maximum boost with the best resolution; for lower boost the 35 psi version gives finer control.
Can I buy a spare/second water-methanol injector for my AEM HD controller kit?
Yes. AEM replacement V3 water/methanol injectors are sold separately (30-3313, pack of 2).
Is the O2 sensor of the AEM wideband gauge covered by warranty?
The gauge itself has a 2-year warranty. The O2 sensor is a racing part and, like all wideband sensors, it is not covered by warranty because its life depends on fuel, installation position and use. However, if the sensor does not work out of the box (it has never been installed in an exhaust), we will replace it.

MSD Ignition – Ignition Boxes, Coils & Spark Plug Wires
How do MSD ignition boxes work?
MSD boxes are capacitive discharge (CD) ignitions: they increase the voltage delivered to the primary of the ignition coil and discharge it as a high-energy capacitive output, producing a stronger spark (multiple sparks at lower rpm). The programmable versions can also control the engine's timing advance. See the product user manual for details.
Can you supply an MSD coil pack to replace the ignition cassette on my car (e.g. Citroën C4 VTS 2.0 16V)?
We need the vehicle's ECU wiring diagram and the number of coils inside the existing cassette before we can recommend a solution. With that information we can suggest an MSD coil pack, a driver if needed, and custom wires.
Which MSD boots do I use to connect a high-voltage wire to an MSD Smart Coil?
MSD Smart Coils need the correct coil-side boot and terminal; general-purpose boots such as 3321/3322 are not always the right fit. Tell us your coil part number and we will specify the correct boots, or build the wires for you.
Do you have MSD spark plug wires for the Mini Cooper S R53?
Yes, the MSD Super Conductor wire set 32879 (red) fits the R53 Mini Cooper S.
Can I buy MSD Super Conductor 8.5 mm spark plug wire in bulk?
Yes. We supply MSD 8.5 mm Super Conductor wire in bulk lengths (e.g. 30 m / 100 ft rolls, part 34049 red), as well as MSD boots, terminals and retainers. Colour availability depends on MSD stock; red has sometimes been out of stock for long periods, so ask us first.
Do you have an ignition upgrade kit for the Fiat Punto GT?
Yes, we offer a Stage 1 ignition upgrade kit for the Punto GT. You can add an MSD ignition box to improve the spark further.
Which MSD parts fit a Pontiac Firebird 3.4 V6 with waste-spark coil packs?
3 × MSD 8224 GM 2-tower coil packs, an 8.5 mm Super Conductor 6-cylinder wire set (we can adapt it to your engine) and an MSD ignition box such as the 6A (6201) or Street Fire (5520).
Which MSD box should I choose for a distributor engine: 5520, 6425 (6AL) or 6530 (6AL-2)?
(1) 5520 Street Fire: the bestseller, ideal for boosting the ignition to the maximum with a strong spark. (2) 6425 Digital 6AL: race edition with rev limiter, ideal if you use the engine near the rev limit for long periods. (3) 6530 Programmable 6AL-2: adds the ability to control timing retard according to RPM or boost, without removing the distributor. Note: if the engine uses two separate ignition signals from the ECU (wasted-spark), these boxes cannot control the timing advance.
Should I buy the MSD Street Fire 5520 or the 6AL for my street car (e.g. classic Mini)?
For street and everyday use, the 5520. Both have the same main functions (including a rev limiter). The 6AL has a bit more energy and is designed for track use (e.g. running on the limiter for a long time); for a street Mini it is money wasted. A proven Mini setup is: MSD 8222 coil + 5520 box + race-tailored MSD spark plug wires. For launch control, choose the 6AL-2.
The MSD coil pack wiring diagram for my Ford Zetec differs from the Motorcraft one (cylinders 2 and 3 swapped). Which is correct?
Always follow the firing order/wiring of your own engine and ignore the generic drawing. Also verify that the wires have the correct boots on the coil side.

Ignitech – Programmable Motorcycle Ignitions
What is "base advance" on an Ignitech ignition and how do I set it?
Base advance is the ignition timing when the pickup is at the end of the pulse lobe on the rotor. The unit fires at this point after start and at low rpm (up to the first rpm point of the advance map), which keeps the timing stable at idle. It cannot be changed by software; it is fixed by the physical position of the rotor and pickup on your bike, typically around 10° BTDC (range about 3–22°). You must enter this value in the Ignitech PC software so that the advance map matches the real timing. To determine it: mark the rotor and engine at 25° BTDC, load a map with a flat 25° plateau between 3000–5000 rpm, check with a timing light and adjust the base advance value until the marks align. For multi-lobe pickup systems the software defines a "virtual lobe".
Should I switch my bike from inductive to capacitive (CDI) ignition to get two maps?
Ignitech does not recommend switching ignition type without a specific reason. Going capacitive means changing the coil connections and using capacitive-type coils. Two maps are available on the programmable/race versions of the correct ignition type for your bike, so stay with the original type.
Can I use ignition coils with an internal igniter (e.g. AEM Smart Coils) with my Ignitech unit?
Yes. Ignitech units can be built with outputs for coils with an internal igniter (5 V falling-edge signal), which gives a much stronger spark overall. For example, the AEM 30-2853 IGBT smart coil works with such a unit. Tell us before ordering, because the unit's outputs must be configured for this coil type.
How long does it take to receive an Ignitech unit?
Ignitech units are built to order for your bike. After we confirm the specifications, production typically takes about 10 business days, plus shipping.
Do you have a connection harness for the Ignitech Ignijet 12 on a Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird?
Yes. Ignitech units are available to order, always prepared 100% for the customer's bike, and we can make a custom plug-and-play harness for your motorcycle.
Can I use a different crank sensor (e.g. an automotive inductive sensor with a 24-2 wheel) instead of the original pickup?
Ignitech recommends using the original pickup system when possible. If you use another sensor, you must specify exactly whether it is inductive (2 wires) or hall effect (3 wires) and the trigger pattern (e.g. 24-2, 60-2, single lobe), because the unit's input hardware is built for that sensor type.
Do you ship Ignitech units outside Europe (e.g. Japan, USA)?
Yes. We ship worldwide. Because each unit is pre-configured, we first need the make, model and year of your motorcycle and a photo of the existing ignition connector; then we confirm the unit and the total cost including shipping.
My bike runs badly with the new Ignitech unit but fine with the old ignition. Why?
A programmable unit must be programmed for your specific bike: the pickup configuration (e.g. one or two pulse generators), the advance curve and the coil settings must match your engine. Check the configuration loaded in the unit, and send us a photo of the connections, the configuration file and a photo of the letters engraved on the Ignitech housing (they identify the hardware variant) so we can check it with the manufacturer.
Can I use an Ignitech unit on an engine it has never been tested on (e.g. racing moped with an aftermarket internal-rotor ignition)?
Possibly, but when Ignitech has never tested the unit with your pickup/ignition system, they cannot guarantee it will work. In that case a return would be handled with a restocking fee. We always check with the manufacturer first and tell you before shipping, so you can decide whether to try or cancel.
One cylinder of my two-stroke bike (e.g. Honda NSR250 MC21) misfires at low rpm. Is it the ECU?
It may not be only the ECU. Before replacing it, check the other possible causes (plug caps, coils, pickups, carburation, power valves). If the original ECU is confirmed faulty, Ignitech offers a DCCDIP2 race unit with a plug-and-play connector adapter for this bike.

Warranty & Returns
My new wideband O2 sensor gives an error during the first free-air calibration. Can it be replaced?
Yes, as long as the sensor has not been installed in an exhaust. Once a sensor has been used on a running engine, its tip ("nose") changes colour, and in that case we cannot replace it because O2 sensors are not covered by warranty. Send us clear photos of the sensor tip.
How do I make a warranty claim for a DeatschWerks fuel pump?
Send us a short video showing the problem (e.g. pump running on the bench). We forward it to the supplier, who decides whether the warranty claim is accepted.
Is a GReddy Profec covered by warranty if the harness has been cut or spliced?
No. GReddy/Trust inspects returned units, and damage caused by installation errors, such as a spliced power or solenoid harness causing a short circuit, is not covered. Also keep the display and control unit together as a matched pair (serial numbers must match). Install the harness as supplied without cutting it.
What warranty do your performance parts have?
Most performance parts are sold by the manufacturers as "for race use only", which in practice means they carry no manufacturer warranty. Racedom nevertheless offers a 2-year warranty (and sometimes more) as long as the product has not been physically altered or damaged (e.g. deformed, overheated, burnt). Electronic gauges such as AEM X-Series have a 2-year warranty. Wear parts such as wideband O2 sensors are excluded.
Can I return a product after installing it?
Unused products in their original condition can be returned for a refund. If the product shows signs of use or installation (scratches, cut or dirty wires, etc.), we can only refund the parts that are still in resellable condition. Contact us before sending anything back.
My Holley Sniper 2 throttle body is part of the recall. How is it handled?
Holley processes Sniper 2 recall units with a "field destroy" procedure: send photos of the throttle body with its serial number visible, then photos of the unit destroyed and unusable. Holley then ships a replacement. We handle the process for our customers; contact us with your serial number.
My Innovate gauge stopped working. How do I get it replaced under warranty?
Send us the gauge/controller for testing and replacement. In the EU the legal warranty is 2 years, and we honour it even if the manufacturer's standard warranty is 1 year. The O2 sensor is not covered. Before shipping, remove the O2 sensor from the exhaust: a sensor left in the exhaust without its controller heating it will be damaged by soot and condensation. Contact us first for the return address and RMA.
What warranty does the Sprint Booster have, and how do I claim it?
The Sprint Booster V3 has a 2-year warranty. If it fails (e.g. the display goes dark), send us a detailed description of the problem and the proof of purchase, then return the device to us for check and replacement. We cover the warranty even if the unit was bought by a relative, as long as it was sold by us.
Can a single leaking TEIN coilover be repaired or replaced?
We are a TEIN reseller and cannot arrange repairs. If you buy new, TEIN dampers are sold in pairs, not singly.
