Which wideband AFR gauge should I choose: AEM 30-0300 or Innovate MTX-L Plus?
Both are top quality, both work on classic and modern cars, and both have a 2-year warranty (the O2 sensor is excluded). The main differences: (1) AEM uses the new AEM FAE O2 sensor; Innovate uses the Bosch LSU 4.9. (2) AEM outputs data on CAN bus; Innovate uses its serial protocol. (3) Innovate gauges can easily be daisy-chained with other Innovate devices and connected to a computer with simple logging software; doing the same with AEM is more expensive and more complex. (4) AEM is plug and play; Innovate needs a free-air calibration procedure. (5) Innovate includes a silver bezel and a white faceplate in the box; with AEM these are sold separately.
