My AEM fuel pump failed after a few months and looks corroded/deformed. Is it covered by warranty?
With normal use this does not happen; we have sold and installed thousands of 50-1000 pumps. Corrosion or deformation of the pump body typically comes from: (1) running methanol or other additives (acetone, solvents) in the fuel with a pump not designed for them, (2) running methanol and not flushing the fuel system afterwards, or (3) using very small fuel lines (smaller than AN4), causing the fuel to overheat. All these cases are outside normal use and are not covered by AEM warranty. For E85 or methanol blends, use an E85-rated pump such as the 50-1220.
