If your vehicle already has an electric fuel pump with a return line in place, you might not need to replace it.* If this situation fits your car, consider the Throttle Body Kit which comes with the Throttle Body, Power Module (with Wide Band O2 sensor), and Handheld Controller.

For an existing fuel system to work with the Atomic, we recommend the system be able to maintain 42psi constant and use 3/8th or "Dash 6" fuel line rated for EFI. The Atomic can support a return fuel line if needed for your application

Throttle Body

The crown jewel of the Atomic EFI system is of course the throttle body itself. Our Engineers have countless hours in designing the unit with great performance and appearance. the compact design is similar in size to a carburetor, yet contains an Electronic Control Unit, four injectors, the Idle Air Control solenoid, TPS, MAP, Intake Air Temperature (IAT) and more. It's easy to overlook all of the details so let's have a closer look-

PowerModule

Power Module

The Power Module is a remote mounted item for the Atomic that handles all the high current loads. MSD's CAN-Bus technology allows for a single, clean connection between this unit and the throttle body mounted ECU.

CAN-Bus

These two ports are for MSD's CAN-Bus technology. Just plug in the throttle body and the handheld controller and you are ready to go – nothing complicated! Best of all, these two ports are interchangeable, so don't worry about which plug goes where.

Wiring

Most of the wiring for the Atomic comes through this loom. This includes the Fuel Pump power (no relay required!), two fan controls, Wide Band 02 sensor, 12 volt switched, and power and ground.

Mounting

The Power Module for Atomic can be mounted almost anywhere you like. Of course, we'd love to see you put it front and center on the fire wall, but if you would rather have it tucked out of sight that works too. Just make sure it protected from much water and has a little air flow.

HandheldProgrammer

Handheld

This little device is how you communicate with the Atomic. The initial setup takes about 5 minutes to ask a few basic questions about your engine. After that, the handheld serves as a dash for you to see all that is happening in your engine!

Use

MSD knows the Handheld must be easy to use. This wasn't made for a rocket scientist or a software engineer, the handheld is in plain English for the car enthusiasts that will use it. In the Initial Setup, you'll answer six questions about your engine like Cubic Inches, Number of Cylinders, and your desired rev limit.

Dash

After the Setup is complete, you may think the Handheld is useless; not so! The Dash function of this device can serve you any time you want to know what's happening in the engine. From exact Air Fuel Ratio readouts to Engine Coolant Temp, this set up tells you everything you want to know about your engine.

Data and Diagnostics

The data Atomic gathers doesn't just disappear after you look at it on the dash. If ever an issue arises, the Diagnostics feature will display alerts and save them for up to ten starts to let you come back and see what is going on.
