Some motorcycles has speed limit. These bikes are usually from Germany. Speed limit is usually 80 km/h. Speed limit is realised with ignition unit. There is speed sensor connected to ignition unit. Ignition unit stops ignition when measured speed exceed 80 km/h. Removing of speed sensor will not avoid speed limiter. Without speed signal ignition unit limits engine speed.

Customer Questions
Do some motorcycles have a speed limit?
Yes, some motorcycles, particularly those from Germany, have a speed limit usually set at 80 km/h. This speed limit is enforced through an ignition unit connected to a speed sensor. The ignition unit will stop ignition when the measured speed exceeds 80 km/h.
Can the speed limiter be bypassed by removing the speed sensor?
No, removing the speed sensor will not bypass the speed limiter. The ignition unit will still limit the engine speed even without the speed signal from the sensor.
